Anne Heaton is one to watch. Known as a passionate and heartfelt live performer, she was recently selected over the hundreds of acts in the Soul City Café national competition to go on tour with critically acclaimed major label recording artist Jewel. With a performance schedule of over 150 shows a year, Heaton has won over fans and built a strong grassroots following throughout the United States. Heaton’s debut studio album, Black Notebook, charted on CMJ at #139 and independently sold over 7,000 copies. Performing Songwriter Magazine, which chose Black Notebook as one of its Top 12 Independent Releases, describes Heaton’s music as “alternately lush, sweet, funny and sorrowful.” Heaton recently signed with Q Division Records to release Give In, her new record produced by Mike Denneen (Aimee Mann, Howie Day, Fountains of Wayne). On Give In, Heaton sings, and plays piano and keyboards, collaborating with longtime musical partner Frank Marotta Jr. on vocals, acoustic and electric guitars.
