The Pulses

The Pulses are one of the best kept secrets in the Seattle music scene. Their two CD's on Dirtnap
have gotten rave reviews in the underground press, from MRR to The Big Takeover, and have
received lots of radio airplay. Yet despite all this, they have managed to remain largely unknown
outside of Seattle. (might have something to do with the fact that they've never toured.)

For the uninitiated, The Pulses are a Seattle via NY three piece that has specialized in 1.5 minute
whip-smart, air tight blasts of garage meets art-punk (The Kinks meets Wire? GBV meets Mission
Of Burma?) to a devoted local audiences for many years now. They are some of the most
accomplished musicians ("the best bassist in Seattle" Heath Heemsbergen of The Stranger says
about ex-FALLOUTS member Shannon O'Connell), and prolific songwriters (well over 100 songs and
counting!) in town.
