Eleni Mandell: Wishbone
Originally released in 1999, "Wishbone", Eleni Mandell's debut quickly captured the hearts and imagination of music critics and afficionados. Produced by the ubiquitous Jon Brion (Rufus Wainwright, Fiona Apple, and Aimee Mann to name a few) "Wishbone" has a brooding mysterious vibe fitting for an artist influenced by both Tom Waits and Rickie Lee Jones. Born and raised in L.A., her career was sparked on a fateful night at Musso and Franks, where she had coffee with Tom Waits and met her mentor, Chuck E. Weiss (of "Chuck E' In Love" reknown).
