Jessie Mae Hemphill & Friends’ “Dare You To Do It Again” DVD is the companion of the recently released rip roaring CD of the same name. Capturing the spirit and camaraderie of the this event honoring Jessie Mae Hemphill, the DVD is presented in four parts:
Main Event: this is a documentary featuring interviews and behind-the-scenes footage interspersed with footage of the live recording session (similar to the preview on the enhanced portion from the CD version, but longer).
Fish Fry: interviews and behind-the-scenes footage of the night before the recording.
Late Night Jam: impromptu live performance footage of a bunch of the musicians jamming, plugged in.
Morning After: impromptu interview/jam session with Jimbo Mathus, Tramp Camp, Greg, Davis, and Olga, discussing event.
Like the CD, the “Dare You To Do It Again” DVD features an amazing cast of musicians including Robert Belfour, Kenny Brown, Cedric Burnside, Garry Burnside, Jimbo Mathus and many many more.
