Bobby robinson's Fire and Fury labels were an incredibly successful operation during the late 1950s and early '60s, racking up hit after hit in both the R&B and Pop fields. Headquartered in Harlem right up the street from the fabled Apollo theater, Fire and Fury released a non-stop stream of blues, rock and roll, and doo-wop, the latter being the focal point of this jam-packed two-cd anthology. Robinson had an enviable knack for producing classic vocal group platters by some of New York's finest Doo-Wop aggregations, and they're all aboard this compilation.
