The Steep Canyon Rangers: Mr. Taylor's New Home
![]()
The Steep Canyon Rangers are a young, energetic bluegrass band that is turning heads from the mountains to the coast of North Carolina. They share their music throughout the Southeast and as far west as Colorado. Playing both original and traditional material, the age of the band ranges from 21 to 25 years old, which makes for a unique sound and energy. Their music appeals to both hardcore bluegrass lovers and fans of the "jam band" scene. The Steep Canyon Rangers' steadfast touring efforts made them a perfect match to be the inaugural release on the newly launched Bonfire Records imprint from Redeye/Yep Roc Records. The label's focus is on hard-touring, festival type artists that have established their fanbase purely from their road work. "Mr. Taylor's New Home" is the group's follow up to their self-released debut, "Old Dreams and New Dreams". The new album demonstrates SCR's strong harmony ability as well as a maturity in songwriting unheard of in such a young band. Their youthful approach give new energy to their traditional bluegrass music. SCR will be heading out west to Colorado and beyond shortly following the release. They will continue to tour all over the Southeast throughout the fall and winter. They are also scheduled to appear at many bluegrass festivals. Standard Jewel Case/Box Lot-25
