This release is a compilation of sorts, of recent covers, b-sides, compilation tracks, outtakes, and unreleased stuff, all of which could very easily fit on any Of Montreal album. "Then Who Will Protect Big Oil, Our Children" features not only covers of songs by the Velvet Underground and The Zombies but also all sorts of tangents that for whatever reason didn't make onto an Of Montreal album proper.
