Celebrations announced for Yep Roc's 30th anniversary resurrection of Nick Lowe's "Jesus of Cool"

Open call for bands to join the congregation

On February 19, 2008 Yep Roc will reissue Nick Lowe's legendary debut album as the Jesus of Cool: 30th Anniversary Edition complete with the original UK track listing, plentiful bonus material and deluxe artwork.

To mark the occasion devotees and musicians claiming Nick Lowe as their spiritual co-pilot are arranging shows around the country at which they will either play an entire set of Lowe songs or incorporate one or two into their existing set. Bands or performers wishing to join the flock are encouraged to link to the Jesus of Cool Resurrection Myspace page (myspace.com/jesusofcoolsresurrection) and announce any shows happening the weekend of February 22 / 23.

  • February 22 Tractor Tavern Seattle, WA w/ The Lowe Beats led by Scott McCaughey of the Minus Five/Young Fresh Fellows
  • February 22 Hole in the Wall Austin, TX w/ The Lowelies led by Brent Lyles along w/ Eric Hisaw & Ron Flynt (20/20), Mandible, and Elizabeth McQueen (Asleep at the Wheel)
  • February 23 Dante's Portland, OR w/ The Lowe Beats led by Scott McCaughey (Minus Five/Young Fresh Fellows)
  • February 23 Lizard Lounge Boston, MA w/ Bill Janovitz (Buffalo Tom), Tony Goddess (Papas Fritas) and Ed Valauskas (Graham Parker, Juliana Hatfield)
  • February 23 The Basement Nashville, TN w/ The Lowe Numbers led by Bill Lloyd w/ Steve Allen (20/20), Tom Peterson (Cheap Trick) and more.
Radio stations across the country will also be taking part in the celebration by putting special focus on the reissue on release week.

Participating stations include:
