Note Pad #38 is the sixth disc of new material by Don Dixon, who has previous releases on Restless and Enigma. Now living in Akron, OH (the hometown of his wife-singer Marti Jones), Dixon was a longtime resident of Chapel Hill, NC. Note Pad #38 is an odds-and-ends collection, featuring mostly unreleased material, ranging from basement demos to polished studio recordings left off of previous releases. Includes Only In My Sleep, a Shoes cover recorded for a Parasol Shoes tribute disc, Wise Up, written by Mary Chapin Carpenter and Gary Nicholson, Inside These Arms originally was recorded by Marti Jones, and Catching Cold was recorded for a specialty show at WKSU in Kent State.
