LA Weekly talks Los Straitjackets

The Nashville-based instro-kings are celebrating too. They have a fun new album out, Rock en Espanol Vol. 1. Something of a follow-up to their guest-vocalist-studded 2001 disc of covers, Sing Along With Los Straitjackets, this new album sports a distinct 'Jackets twist. They work up Spanish versions of classic rock tunes - a common practice back in the '60s. So the Kinks' "All Day and All of the Night" becomes "De Dia y de Noche" and "Wild Thing" is "Loco Te Patina El Coco."
