On their third record, the Portland, OR, band offers 11 tracks that ebb and flow with more mood swings than a day in the life of a manic depressive; Dolorean invites listeners to join them on this journey of beautiful dispair. The lush, meticulously crafted arrangements entrance you and beg repeated listens. The haunting, alt-country epic "Beachcomber Blues," which is like a strong cup of Gram Parsons topped with a dollop of Whiskeytown, epitomizes where this band is coming from. By blending equal doses of Pink Floyd, The Band and Coldplay and injecting the influences with its own blend of folk, Dolorean delivers another musical gem.
