The Bands
8:00pm The Datson Four
Their newly recorded album The New Devotion (a summer 2003 RQ worldwide release) is a brilliant recording of jangle, psychedelia and colorful melody and fantastic song structure which would make the guys in Teardrop Explodes and Echo and The Bunnymen gush with pride; as well as all those "B" bands. The Datson Four are the cutting edge for the 21st century.

8:30pm The Telepathic Butterflies
Winnipeg based quartet mixes vintage Teenage Fanclub, Cotton Mather and Beatles; harmonizing over an aggressive guitar assault not unlike Oasis or even early Supergrass; more acoustic tracks are more Kinks and XTC. Their music is a blend of equal parts jangle, psychedelia, melody and harmony. The metamorphosis is complete. Tune in to the Telepathic Butterflies. Their debut long-player in stores now.

9:00pm The Lackloves
Exclaim Magazine described The Lackloves’ StarCityBaby as “…a record that emphasizes everything great about true, classic pop”. Formed by Mike Jarvis and Bob Eickhoff after the demise of 90's super pop band The Blow Pops, The Lackloves are a band built upon the solid melodic foundation laid by Lennon's Beatles, Davies' Kinks and Townshend's Who.

9:30pm The Singles
The Singles are a four-piece guitar pop/rock phenomenon from Detroit. The band, all in their early twenties, are superior musicians who are not following any hype or genre despite being from the oh-so-hyped garageland, Detroit. This band is pure Rainbow Quartz and reminds us of the excitement surrounding the initial release of Cotton Mather's Kontiki. The Singles are incredibly original tunesmiths with guitar textures both crunchy and jangly, and golden harmonies and melodies deluxe.

10:00pm The Three 4 Tens
The Three 4 Tens' sound like The Strokes on blotter acid meets Paul Revere and The Raiders. Live, their lava lamp psychedelic rave-up rivals the legendary Feelies. European audiences have compared the band to The Doors, Iron Butterfly and Steppenwolf -- how cool is that?

10:30pm The Grip Weeds
Goldmine Magazine characterized the band as “Smithereens and psychedelics”. The latest release, Summer Of A Thousand Years, cross-pollinates crafty melodic pop and swirling psychedelia with the power-punch of early Who. The Grip Weeds’ re-release a remixed, remastered and resequenced (w/ bonus tracks) version of 1999’s The Sound is in You on April 22nd via Rainbow Quartz.

11:00pm Outrageous Cherry
Detroit's avante psychedelic garage practitioners meld spaced-out rockers, bubblegum ballads, extra-terrestrial acid folk and deep fissures of the heaviest, way-out psychedelia ever digitized. The latest offering, Supernatural Equinox, arguably Matt Smith’s strongest composition to date hits stores May 6th.
