YEP ROC signs rock legend Dexter Romweber!!

Long before The White Stripes and other current bands made the drum/guitar rock duo a hot combination, Chapel Hill's own guitar-playin' wildman Dex Romweber was living in a shack he nicknamed "The Mausoleum," using a coffin lid for a coffee table and playing a terrifying mixture of early rock, rockabilly, blues and soul-garage in his legendary combo, The Flat Duo Jets. Every legend you've heard about Dex and this band is true - Believe! There were brushes with fame and fortune - TV appearances, tours with the likes of The Cramps - as the band's raw intensity and Dex's dazzling guitar playing built the band a dedicated underground following. Now, with a new full-length recording in the can, Blues That Defy My Soul, Dex is back and ready to testify! Recorded with Southern Culture on the Skids' Rick Miller at Rick's Kudzu Ranch Studio in rural North Carolina, and featuring Sam Sandler on tubs, this is Dex's rawest - most mojo-fied - batch of tracks to date. And word is getting out - check out this testimonial from an unknown fan that turned up in Yep Roc's online mailbox: "Dexter Romweber has just completed the recording of the greatest rock 'n' roll album of all time! Hold on tight cuz when you put this muther in your cd player it's gonna be like opening the Ark of the Covenent! KaPowww! There is only one man alive that genuinely encompasses all that is Rock 'n' Roll and his name is Dexter. Dex and Sam have painstakingly formulated a collection of original songs and riffs that are generated by the same unseen force that drew the soul from Man and combined it with the irresistable rythms that captivated and hypnotized humans from 1,000,000 BC to 2004 Baby! Beware, my children, Rock 'n' Roll is a Teenage Disease and there is a world wide Outbreak about to spread like fire, 'cross the universe!!"

Look for Blues That Defy My Soul to drop on 5/18. Listen in a safe place. Snake handling optional.
