Equal parts Sergio Leone, the Notorious Byrds Brothers and Calexico, The Sadies, on their latest release, Stories Often Told, create a reverb-drenched, shimmering sound that transcends the alt-country genre. The Sadies are a hard-driving country & western band that oozes a style, sophistication and good sense earned by years of incessant touring, both as headliners and as the backing band for everyone from Neko Case and Jon Langford to R&B legend Andrew Williams.
