On May 3rd and 4th Yep Roc's Tres Chicas and more than a dozen other musicians and friends will join together for a two-day event in memory of Drew Glackin- multi-instrumentalist for NYC-based band, The Silos. In January 2008 we lost Drew to an extremely treatable disease because he, like so many other working musicians in this country, did not have access to affordable health insurance. With access to basic medical care, Drew would have been able to identify and treat the common thyroid condition that took this massively talented artist from us at the early age of 44. The Future of Music Coalition and The Hint initiative helps artists navigate the health insurance system to prevent the tragic loss and crippling financial repercussions that plague the artist community. Join us in Raleigh, NC on May 3rd and 4th to raise money for this initiative. Fifty-percent of all proceeds will go directly to Drew's family to help with his funeral and medical expenses.
