Critically acclaimed new traditionalists Chatham County Line announce new album IV, out March 4

"Their playing is expert but never sterile or cliched - they let the music unfold into a sort of organic soundscape." -Pitchfork

"There's an intangible at work, or maybe a specter - the ghost of rock past, an alt-country phantom sitting in as fifth member…" -No Depression

Indie roots'ers Chatham County Line reunites with producer Chris Stamey (Yo La Tengo, Alex Chilton, Alejandro Escovedo) to make IV, their most ambitious album to date.

IV marks a stark evolution for the all-acoustic band comprised of guitarist/lead vocalist Dave Wilson, bassist Greg Readling, fiddler/mandolin player John Teer and banjoist Chandler Holt.

"Before, we were trying to fit into this one niche because of the instruments we like to play. But now we just look at our instruments as our instruments and it's all about taking that and evolving into the band we are and want to be," remarks chief songwriter Dave Wilson.

Chatham County Line is fresh off a whirlwind of critical and commercial success in Europe following the release (and #2 Norwegian chart debut) of Amerikabesok, their album with Norwegian legend Jonas Fjeld.

CCL will hit the road in early March in support of the March 4, 2008 release of IV. Dates to be announced soon.
