John Doe appears on soundtrack to Dylan biopic, "I'm Not There" and is featured on Sundance

John Doe will join a legendary cast of musicians in honoring rock's greatest poet, Bob Dylan, by appearing on the soundtrack to I'm Not There, Todd Haynes' much anticipated Dylan biopic. In addition to Doe, the 2-disc set includes Dylan covers from Jeff Tweedy, Stephen Malkmus, Eddie Vedder, Sonic Youth, Iron & Wine, Calexico, The Hold Steady, Cat Power and many more. John will participate in a charity concert featuring many of the artists on the soundtrack to be held at the Beacon Theater in New York City on November 7, 2007.

John performs two songs on the soundtrack, Dylan's "I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine" and "Pressing On." Doe's version of "Pressing On" also appears in the film during Christian Bale's portrayal of Dylan, where he lip synch's to Doe's stunning version of the Saved-era Dylan classic.

The film features several different actors including Cate Blanchett, Richard Gere, Heath Ledger, Christian Bale and others portraying Dylan at different points in his storied life and career. The film's narrative style reflects the loose poetic form of much of Dylan's work, and attempts to capture on film, his unique approach to songwriting and art. The film recently won the Grand Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival, with Cate Blanchett receiving Best Actress honors at the prestigious event.

I'm Not There will open in the United States on November 21, 2007.
