Simple Kid Joins Spiritualized for North American Tour Dates
"...charming, off-kilter...the inventiveness shines." - Wall Street Journal
Irish-born Simple Kid will join experimental English rockers Spiritualized on their North American dates this November. Simple Kid's album 2, the follow up to his groundbreaking first album 1, was released in August on Yep Roc Records. For 2, Simp (the nickname friends and fans call him) kept the banjo and beats but changed his songwriting and production style, opting for a more organic and traditional approach over the post-modern cut-and-paste method he used on 1. The Simple Kid experience truly comes together during his live show. Simp takes the stage alone, with just a laptop to accompany him while he strums the guitar or picks the banjo and sings. Behind him, video he's compiled himself adds a visual component to his stage performance. Just off a round of dates with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Kings of Leon, Simple Kid will join Spiritualized for six dates starting November 11 in San Francisco. Spiritualized plans to release the follow-up to 2003's Amazing Grace in 2008. Watch a Simple Kid live video Stream 2 Simple Kid on Tour
