Doyle Bramhall's Fitchburg Street

"We are thrilled to work with such a soulful performer as Doyle Bramhall, " says Yep Roc's Glenn Dicker. "This record should be just what Doyle's fans have been waiting for since his debut nine years ago. This is a wonderful collection of songs that have been a staple of his live shows for years. I also have a feeling fans won't have to wait as long for a follow up!"

Doyle Bramhall's new CD, Fitchburg Street, to be released February 25, 2003, is the Texas' singer/songwriter/drummer's fond look back at the music that shaped him: soul, blues and rock 'n' roll.

The original Fitchburg Street in tough West Dallas, is where Doyle began a lifelong career as an eclectic blues-based musician. He literally cut his teeth on such songs are John Lee Hooker's "Dimples", Howlin Wolf's "Fourty Four" and Jimmy Reed's "Baby What You Want Me To Do", all of which are included on the new CD. Fitchburg Street also includes Doyle's original version of "Life By The Drop." Co-written with Barbara Logan, "Drop" first appeared on Stevie Ray Vaughan's album The Sky Is Crying and was named the 1992 Song Of The Year at the prestigious Austin Music Awards.

As a songwriter, Doyle Bramhall was instrumental in stretching the scope of modern blues through his collaborations with Vaughan on such songs as "Change It", "House Is Rockin'" and "Dirty Pool".

Fitchburg Street is the follow-up to Doyle's debut CD, Bird Nest On The Ground. Released nine years ago, the disc was a fantastic piece of American music and garnered Doyle some long overdue national attention. Bird Nest featured his soulful, easygoing baritone, his effortless blend of both period covers and his own trad-conscious originals, as well as his straight-forward drumming style.

Doyle plans to follow the release of Fitchburg Street with a national tour.
