In addition to a successful career as an artist, Lowe has made his mark on popular culture as a gifted producer (Elvis Costello, Graham Parker, John Hiatt, The Pretenders) and a brilliant songwriter. Lowe pended both "The Beast in Me" for Johnny Cash and the epic plea "(What's So Funny 'bout...) Peace, Love and Understanding" (popularized by Elvis Costello and covered by Curtis Steigers on The Bodyguard Soundtrack) to name but two.

For the past decade, Lowe has been focused on making music that's artistically satisfying and emotionally rewarding. He's simply not interested in trying to re-hash his past successes as a solo hit-maker or resurrecting the sounds of his influential groups Brinsley Schwarz, Rockpile and Little Village. Lowe's recent trilogy of work, the most recent being The Convincer, is the ultimate example of this philosophy with its unique mix of soulful ballads and wide ranging genres and influences.
