Robyn Hitchcock: Luxor
![]()
In the manner that Kurt Vonnegut wrote "Breakfast of Champions" as a fiftieth birthday present to himself, "Luxor" has the same function for Robyn Hitchcock. Given away at Robyn's 50th birthday show in London in March, "Luxor" is a relatively production-free collection of naked songs. Yes, "Luxor" does contain a miniscule amount of overdubs and a few special guests (Jon Brion and Scott McCaughey) but it remains an unique listening experience even when compared to the diversity of the Robyn Hitchcock catalog.
