Velvet Crush is going to open the vaults in 2004.
Ric Menck and Paul Chastain have been working on an album of new material with engineer Adam Schmitt in Urbana, IL, and at Chastain’s home studio in Bloomington, IL.
The yet untitled CD will be released in 2004 on the band’s label Action Musik to coincide with Velvet Crush’s first U.S. tour in years.
Following the late-January reissue of Ric Menck’s long out-of-print solo album The Ballad of Ric Menck (remastered with extra tracks), Action Musik will also release: Velvet Crush’s Shitty Bootleg (limited edition “official” live boot)
, Paul Chastain’s Demo Reel (14 song demo album of unreleased material),
The Reverbs’ Happy Forest (expanded reissue/first time on CD/includes rare Drats 45s),
and Shampoo Banana, a 14-song retrospective of Paul Chastain’s mid-‘80s outfit The Nines.
