Friendly Fire Recordings is an independent, Brooklyn-based label founded by San Francisco transplant Dan Koplowitz in 2003. The label released the New York shoegaze band Asobi Seksu's self-titled debut album to significant acclaim - it went top ten on the CMJ radio charts and got significant attention from the New York Times, John Peel, MTVu, and many others. The label has upcoming releases from a number of geographically disparate but uniformly excellent bands, including Faunts (from Edmonton, Alberta) and David & the Citizens (from Malmo, Sweden). |
