Redeye Distribution Wins 5th NARM Award!!!

August 14, 2005
San Diego, CA- Redeye Distribution has once again received the Best Distributor Award (small division) given by the National Association of Record Merchandisers at its annual convention. This is the fourth consecutive year Redeye has taken the award and the fifth time overall during a span of six years. Redeye co-owner and President Tor Hansen, Sales Director Steve Dixon and Marketing Director Lori Miller were on hand to accept the award. The Distribuition Awards are voted on by the retail members, big and small, chain and indie.

The annual NARM convention is an exclusive event where all of the industry players come together to make business deals, hear live music, get the latest research, see the most up-to-date technology, showcase new product lines, hammer out solutions to industry issues, and network in order to find new business partners.

The National Association of Recording Merchandisers is an industry trade group that serves the music retailing community in the areas of networking, advocacy, information, education and promotion. It was founded in 1958.

NARM members include brick-and-mortar, online and "click-and-mortar" retailers; wholesalers; distributors; content suppliers (primarily music labels, but also video and video game suppliers); suppliers of related products and services; artist managers; and consultants, marketers, and educators in the music business field.

NARM's retail members, who operate 7,000 storefronts that account for almost 85 percent of the music sold in the $12 billion U.S. music market, represent the big national and regional chains -- Anderson (Wal-Mart wholesaler), Best Buy, Borders, Circuit City, Handleman (Wal-Mart and K-Mart wholesaler), Hastings Entertainment, Musicland, Newbury Comics, Target, Tower, TransWorld (Spec's, Record Town, Strawberries, Wherehouse), Virgin -- to the small but influential "tastemaker" independent specialty stores. Members also include online retailers such as Amazon.com, eBay and iTunes.
