Redeye Signs Proclaimer Persevere Records
Redeye is also pleased to announce the signing of Persevere Records, a label owned and operated by Scotland's most famous brothers, Charlie and Craig Reid, professionally known as The Proclaimers.
In August 2000 with EMI's closure of Chrysalis Records as a stand-alone label and failing to see eye to eye with the new proprietors, The Proclaimers very happily parted company with the new regime and started their own label "Persevere Records" with manager Kenny MacDonald. Their next release entitled "Persevere" was released in the U.S. thru Nettwerk in 2001. The band didn't launch the label stateside until 2004 with the release of "Born Innocent". The Proclaimers will release their sixth studio record "Restless Soul" on Sept 6th through Redeye Distribution. Redeye will also pick up "Born Innocent" which was previously distributed by ADA Distribution. "Restless Soul" was recorded in London at Good Luck Studios with producer Mark Wallis (credits include La's. Smiths' U2, Talking Heads, Go-Betweens, Travis, Rooster) and is arguably their best effort of their twenty year career. The band recently played Glastonbury Festival, which received rave reviews from NME and other UK press and is performing an historic show in Edinburgh this week for the G8 summit as a part of the legendary Live 8 at Murrayfield Stadium. The Proclaimers will be sharing the stage with such notable acts as: Snow Patrol, Travis, The Thrills and Annie Lennox. US National Tour dates forthcoming for September and October. |
