Hot House Flowers New Release Streets Oct 5th
Hothouse Flowers first emerged from the streets of Dublin in 1985 and found their way into the world spotlight with the promise that they would be the next U2. Aside from the obvious Irish roots (and the adamant approval of U2’s Bono), that comparison was never quite apt.
Instead, Hothouse Flowers exists on their own terms as a band that has always favored traditional music as much as they favor punk and rock music. Those self-made terms have served them very well throughout their nearly two-decade-long career. Into Your Heart is the fifth studio album from the band that gave us the hit single “Don’t Go” and was once named the “best unsigned band in Europe” by Rolling Stone magazine. The new record displays the Flowers’ continued hunger for a solid soul sound and marries that with the distinctive vocals of lead singer Laim O Maonlai – the man who Bono calls “the best white soul singer in the world.” The new release Into Your Heart release from Eleven Thirty Records streets Oct 5th |
