REDEYE NAMED NARM

THIRD AWARD IN FOUR YEARS FOR THE NC-BASED COMPANY

Graham, NC: For the second year in a row and three of the last four years running, Redeye Distribution has won the Distributor Of The Year Award from NARM (small division). Winners were announced last evening at NARM's annual convention banquet in San Diego.

Company co-owner Tor Hansen, Sales Director Steve Dixon, Marketing Coordinator Lori Miller and West Coast Sales Representative Steven King were all on hand to collect the prestigious industry award. It's the third time in four years that Redeye has won in its division, selected on criteria established by judging panels comprised of representatives from various trading partner companies (i.e. retail stores), who then voted on the nominees.

The company, started in an extra bedroom of Tor Hansen's Chapel Hill home in 1996, now operates out of two warehouses in Graham, NC and stocks more than 1500 titles, including titles by such diverse artists as Afroman, Matthew Sweet, Pharcyde, Concrete Blonde, Reverend Horton Heat and up-and-coming singer-songwriter Vienna Teng.

Redeye's label division, which includes Yep Roc, Eleven Thirty Records, Bonfire and the Redeye Label, includes nationally renowned NC-based acts such as Southern Culture on the Skids, Tres Chicas, The Butchies, The Comas and Thad Cockrell. It's also home to such artists as Nick Lowe, Grammy-award winner Dave Alvin and former-Whiskeytown member Caitlin Cary, to name just a few. Upcoming releases include albums by renowned Brit songwriter/eccentric Robyn Hitchcock, south Louisiana swamp-pop guitarist CC Adcock and Portland, OR indie folk-rockers Dolorean.
