Jahbulon is the debut release from Bill Laswell's brand new label, M.O.D. Technologies. The group, Method of Defiance consists of vocalists Dr. Israel and Hawkman, legendary bassist/producer, Bill Laswell, keyboardist / Funkadelic - icon, Bernie Worrell, and post-modern / futurist drummer Guy Licata. Additional members include Toshinori Kondo and DJ Krush.
Jahbulon is the first of a three-part set from, Method of Defiance. Two follow-up releases - Incunabula (instrumental version) and a remix project are both slated to follow shortly after. While the artists involved prefer to avoid genre classification, Jahbulon consists of ten hard, heavy, immediately accessible tracks that combine some elements of Rock, Dub, Reggae and Electronic. Astonishingly well - produced that makes for a very exciting and proper debut release for the label.
