Little Feat gets Live Review in Wahington Post!
Little Feat's Show celebrating the 25th Anniversary of their blockbuster album, "Waiting for Columbus" was reviewed in the Washington Post! Here's an excerpt:
"Big band, big night, really big guest list: Jam-loopy roots-rockers Little Feat celebrated the 25th anniversary of their mega-selling live album "Waiting for Columbus" Tuesday in the same cozy venue where it was recorded, George Washington University's Lisner Auditorium, and with help from more than 20 mad-grinning celebrity chums. "Luminaries including Jackson Browne, Levon Helm, Bela Fleck, Joe Ely and, for some odd reason, actor Billy Bob Thornton helped the Southern California group with New Orleans flair host a three-hour Columbus Day show... "...The show's highlight... came courtesy of a song recorded 11 years after "Waiting for Columbus." Crowd fave "Let It Roll" was an incendiary burst of Southern-fried rock, and with such helpers as Helm on drums, Fleck on banjo and Lenny Pickett and D.C.'s own Ron Holloway battling on sax, the high-octane hit has never sounded so fierce. The resultant applause could barely be heard over a thunderous chant of "Feat! Feat! Feat!" |
