Theory of My Mind is the second CD by The Amygdaloids, NYU scientists who shed their scientific garb at night and take to the stage with songs about love and life peppered with insights drawn from research about mind and brain and mental disorders. Neuroscientist Joseph LeDoux, a pioneer in the study of the brain mechanisms of emotion and memory, is the lead singer, song writer and rhythm guitarist. He is a University Professor, Henry and Lucy Moses Professor of Science, and Professor of Neural Science and Psychology at NYU, and author of The Emotional Brain and Synaptic Self. LeDoux is also director of The Emotional Brain Institute. Other members include drummer Daniela Schiller, a postdoctoral fellow in Cognitive Neuroscience, bassist Nina Galbraith Curley, formerly a graduate student in Psychology, and lead guitarist Tyler Volk, Professor of Biology and Science Director of the Environmental Sciences Program at NYU, and author of CO2 Rising, Metapatterns, Gaia's Body, and What Is Death? Grammy Award winner Rosanne Cash joins the band on the standout tracks, Crime of Passion and Mind Over Matter. English scientist Simon Baron- Cohen plays bass on the title track, Theory of My Mind.
