MonkeyJunk has placed third out of one hundred bands at the 2009 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. In January 2010, the band was impressively honored with FIVE Maple Blues Awards in Toronto, Ontario: Electric Act, Entertainer, Guitarist (Tony D), Male Vocalist and Harmonica Player of The Year (Steve Marriner). They’re nominated for a 2010 Blues Music Award for “Best New Artist Debut” for their album Tiger in Your Tank, making them only the fifth Canadian group to recieve a BMA nod. festivals around the world are beginning work on their sophomore album.
