Richmond Fontaine: We Used To Think The Freeway S ounded Like A River
![]()
We Used To Think The Freeway Sounded Like A River, Richmond Fontaine's eighth album to date (not including tour/mailorder-only albums) finds the band at their peak both artistically and commercially. Singer/songwriter Willy Vlautin has spent a year writing this album and he says it is by far his strongest yet, and it shows. The band, a long-time critics favorite, is reaching further away from the Kings of Americana tag they were given by UNCUT in 2005 and more along the lines of Bon Iver, Wilco, and The National.
