The Effort is a straight edge hardcore band that formed in 2006, playing a style of music that blends modern youth crew sound of Boston's late 1990s with the social conscious lyrics of artists like INSIDE OUT, 108, and BOY SETS FIRE. As THE EFFORT's fan base continued to grow, the band out pen to paper and began working on their long anticipated release titled Iconoclasm again, for Words of War Records. Enlisting the help of studio engineer Jay Maas at the Getaway Group in Boston (AMBITIONS, HAVE HEART, VERSE, MELTDOWN, THE CARRIER, SHIPWRECK, and HAMMER BROS.), the band began work on Iconoclasm. Consisting of nine new songs, three re-recorded songs and guest vocals by Sweet Pete (IN MY EYES), Iconclasm features a much more mature sound musically and lyrically.
