The Golden Age: Carry the Torch
![]()
Corpus Christi's THE GOLDEN AGE play a politically charged and melodic style of hardcore that can easily be compared to their influences STRIKE ANYWHERE, RISE AGAINST, and KID DYNAMITE. With their catchy riffs and easy to sing-a-long lyrics, THE GOLDEN AGE have become a mainstay in the Texas hardcore community. After self-releasing numerous demos and a CDEP on Still Here Records, THE GOLDEN AGE went into the studio in the summer of 2007 to record their debut full-length release on Words of War Records titled Carry The Torch. With help from studio engineer Joseph Colmenero, who also plays bass in the band, THE GOLDEN AGE employed acclaimed comic book artist Eric Powell (DC Comics, The Goon, Batman) to produce a unique and one of a kind design for the album. Regardless of how you stand politically, it's hard to argue that Carry The Torch delivers a 12-song album chalk full of hardcore/punk anthems that will surely survive the test of time.
