As a founding member of both The New York Dolls and The Heartbreakers as well as a highly respected solo performer, Johnny Thunders was a hugely influential figure in the development of punk in the ’70s. His screeching, penetrating guitar sound was distinctive and highly imitated, inspiring legions of punk guitarists including Steve Jones (Sex Pistols) & Mick Jones (The Clash) as well as the Dead Boys and Tom Verlaine from Television. The contents of this CD set captures him live in LA in 1987, a vintage gig in Detroit from 1980 and one of his last ever gigs before his tragically young death at just 38 in Osaka, Japan in 1991. 12 tracks including ‘I’d Rather Be With The Boys’, ‘You Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory’, ‘So Alone’, ‘Lonely Planet Boy’ and more.
