BBQ: Tie Your Noose
![]()
BBQ is Mark Sultan's solo project (King Kahn & BBQ, Los Sexareenos, The Spaceshits, etc) and it's the best one-man band since Wilbert Harrison (and no, we're not forgetting the Legendary Stardust Cowboy...), doing a raw, soul-shaking style of pre-frat '50s/ early '60s party music--pre-frat frat rock. “One man, one guitar, a kick drum, a snare set up with a pedal, and a tambourine. No multi-tracking, everything recorded live and lo-fi. Doesn't get much more minimal than that, does it? Sultan wrings a wide variety of sound out of his modest collection of tools.” - Blogcritics
