Trap Them: Sleepwell Deconstructor
![]()
TRAP THEM began a long time ago, as a side project for two friends who were involved in notably different extreme bands. Founding members Brian Izzi, of Earache recording artists DECEMBER WOLVES, and Ryan McKenney, former frontman for BACKSTABBERS INC, needed another outlet. They did it because they felt like it, because they could. In the four years since, the band has evolved from a side-project to a full-time consideration. And, now, it's time. TRAP THEMenlisted the help of co-conspirators Nat Coughlan, frontman for TRANSISTOR TRANSISTOR (Level Plane), and John Heidenrich formerly of cult sludge/doom outfit GRIEF (Pessimiser/Southern Lord) and recorded a full-length with producer Kurt Ballou, who went so far as to write a song with the band and perform on the album. These are not desperate youth with clichés to spit and nowhere to turn; these are men who have lived for their art. This is TRAP THEM, and they are prepared to break down your front door and put their art right in your face. The Sleepwell Deconstructor album also features artwork by Justin Bartlett, known for his recent work with CADAVER, SUNN, and kvlt Black Metal publication Oaken Throne magazine.
