The Downbeat 5 set to (re)conquer Boston!
Proving you can always go home again, Boston's preeminent garage / soul / rock 'n' roll dynamo, The Downbeat 5, are set to play a pair of home turf hoe-downs; Thursday, May 3rd @ The Paradise in Boston and Friday, May 4th @ The Iron Horse in Northampton. Also appearing are post-punk supergroup The Knitters, featuring Exene Cervenka, John Doe and DJ Bonebrake (X) and Dave Alvin (The Blasters).
These eagerly anticipated shows are the band's first in the Boston area since returning from their triumphant appearance at SXSW (their third triumphant appearance in as many years) where they played sold-out shows alongside The Hoodoo Gurus and The Cynics. The DB5's third full-length disc and first live album, Smoke & Mirrors, was released March 6th, 2007 on Philadelphia based Steel Cage Records (distributed by RedEyeUSA) and has become the band's fastest selling record to date, already going into a second pressing and garnering press accolades and airplay from Boston to LA to Sydney, Australia. ******* The Downbeat 5 appearing w/ The Knitters: Thursday, May 3rd @ The Paradise in Boston, MA Friday, May 4th @ The Iron Horse in Northampton, MA For more information visit: www.downbeat5.com www.steelcagerecords.com #### |
