The Apples in stereo's "The Oasis" featured in this week's Pitchfork Forkcast

From Pitchfork Media:

Oasis saying stupid things and pissing everyone off, what a surprise. The Apples in Stereo's Robert Schneider says he likes the Gallagher brothers' band today, but he wrote this (appropriately) Beatles-y little tune while angry at the Brit rockers for challenging George Harrison to a fistfight. The song is from new Apples odds-and-sods compilation Electronic Projects for Musicians, a successor of sorts to 1996's Science Faire and the latest release by the iconic Elephant 6 band since 2007 comeback New Magnetic Wonder. "The oasis is bland/ And the water turns to sand/ I can't choke it down," Schneider sings, over strummed acoustic-guitar chords. Still not sure what "Wonderwall" is about, aside from the 1968 Harrison film, but "The Oasis" is pretty clear.
