Raw And Raunchy Rap Legend Blowfly Releases His First-Ever Live Album, Live At The Platypussery!

August 5th, 2008; Philadelphia, PA: Steel Cage Records proudly presents Blowfly's Live At The Platypussery - the first live record issued in his epic 45 year career.

Universally acknowledged as the original dirty rapper, Blowfly's first four decades in the music business yielded over 35 albums with combined sales over a million units. Legendary tracks like "Rap Dirty," dubbed "the first rap song ever" by Maxim Magazine (August 2006), and "Porno Freak" helped lay the groundwork for everyone from Snoop Dogg to Luther Campbell to the Wu Tang Clan. (All of whom, among countless other musicians and producers, have sampled his grooves on their records.)

Since his triumphant return to the stage fulltime in 2005 the caped, masked, XXXâ€"rated funkmaster has played hundreds of live dates, exposing new audiences across the globe and garnering even more notoriety and critical acclaim for the man who was, is, and always shall be the undisputed Godfather of Rap.

Recorded in Melbourne during his first Australian tour in February 2007, the disc features a career-spanning selection of 16 tracks ranging from his classic X-rated soul parodies and signature raps to previously unreleased songs (“I Fuck Everything” and “Blowfly’s Alphabet”) as well as two new punk rock perversions and three 'Bone-Us' studio tracks never before available on CD.

Live At The Platypussery captures Blowfly in peak form and is living proof that, even at 69 years young, his pimp hand is stronger than ever.
