Controlled chaos at its best is a good description of this debut full-length release. Hella have been making quite a name for themselves with their no-holds barred approach to instrumental music. There is a definite mania to their method but their flair for infectiously catchy melodies and beats keep the listener engaged. With a constant restlessness and relentless back and forth dialogue between the two players there is nary a dull moment to be found. Jaw dropping musicianship and wildly anarchic deviations put Hella in a class by itself in the bloated world of guitar/drum duos.
