The Mars Volta: Scabdates
![]()
Since 2001, The Mars Volta have toured the world with an ever-expanding lineup, supporting the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers and System of a Down, as well as headlining a number of solo tours in support of their prior albums. The band's physical evolution from quintet to octet can be traced through hundreds of hours of live recordings, as the bulk of their performances over the years have been tirelessly documented on tape. Recently, bandleader Omar A. Rodriguez-Lopez spent some time compiling and editing some of this cast collection of recorded material, sculpting the 74-minute "Scabdates" album, The Mars Volta's first commercially-available full-length live release. In keeping with tradition, GSL's deluxe vinyl version features two (2) full-color picture disc LPs inside a full-color jacket, with a poster insert. Vinyl.
