“Guess What…” is Mikki James’ third release as a band and their first release on Xemu Records. Mikki James (the artist) has had a high-profile career as a bass player before going out on his own. His first band, Thin Lizard Dawn, was well known as being the best act in New York City when they where signed to RCA for five years. After that, Mikki James toured with Leona Ness and played with the Shetland Pony, who’s lineup included Jodie Porter of Fountains of Wayne, Strokes drummer Matt Romano and Strokes manager Ryan Gentles. Their previous album “Mikki James” was produced by Sky High Entertainment in 2002 with the support of Lenny Kravitz. Players included Black Crowes keyboardist Craig Ross, Tonic guitarist Jeff Russon and Eric H, drummer from Uncle Cracker. “Guess What…” continues the tradition of excellence set by the band that has attracted so many fans and established musicians to them.
