"A Year Late, US quartet's Debut Arrives in the UK. Though the state of Arkansas has historically given us stars the calibre of Johnny Cash and Al Green, it's been better known recently for Evanescence and rural meth labs. Little Rock's American Princes might yet joing that hallowed list. An indie act that thinks a little bigger than the average, this is clever but blunt rock with a country dark side. On the plus side, this means the thrillingly malignant Rock N Roll Singer, with the less happy inverse coming in the momentum-ending acoustic lament Revolver. Even so, it's enough to suggest that this year's follow-up could be something special."
