Snow and Voices is a loosely knit amalgamation of musicians who gather in support of Los Angeles singer/ songwriter Lauri Kranz, the voice and stylistic visionary behind the project. Snow and Voices’ debut album is a shimmering, keyboard-drenched, patch quilt of songs written about love, loss, longing and regret by someone who knows. The songs combine classic pop melodies with a slightly darker psych-folk underbelly. Snow and Voices fits nicely alongside the likes of Mia Doi Todd, Keren Ann, Coralie Clement, Mazzy Star, Bebel Gilberto and Beck’s softer albums. Darrell Thorp, who has also worked with Nigel Goodrich, Beck, Air, Travis and Paul McCartney, primarily produced the album. Standard Jewel Case.
