Bird Song is the new label imprint created by Ric Menck: Velvet Crush and Action Musik founder, Reaction Recordings co-conspirator (with Parasol's Geoff Merritt), and Los Angeles resident.

The first two release are both Los Angeles bands, Snow and Voices and The Quarter After. Both, oddly enough, are self-titled...

The Quarter After are similar in style and content to the Brian Jonestown Massacre if and when they remember to take their prescription meds. Soaring vocal harmonies confronted head on by a searing, full-frontal guitar assault. Produced by Rob Campanella (Brian Jonestown Massacre, the Tyde, Mia Doi Todd). The Quarter After will be on tour with The Brian Jonestown Massacre in July.

Both inagural Bird Song titles will be released July 12th.

In the autumn Bird Song will release "The Camp Burlesque Original Soundtrack Album", featuring songs and performances by Matthew Sweet, Velvet Crush, Dave Alvin, Big Sandy, Peter Case, John Doe, Rick Vito, Tito & Tarantula, the Cruzados (featuring Bob Dylan), the Martini Kings, and many more.
